Privacy Policy

This page explains what information ometv.me collects when you use it, what that information is used for, when it leaves our hands, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who this covers

Everyone who uses ometv.me, on any device.

This policy applies to the ometv.me website, its mobile web version and the services you reach through them. It describes how information is collected, used, stored and protected, when it may be shared, what choices you have, and how content you make public is treated.

By using ometv.me you confirm you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree with it, please stop using the service.

What we collect

What you give us, what your device sends automatically, and what a sign-in provider passes on.

Information you provide

  • Account details. If you create an account: email address, username, display name, password, and any optional profile details you add, such as an avatar, bio, date of birth or gender.
  • Things you create. Videos, photos, posts, comments, messages and anything else you publish or share on the platform.
  • Communications. Messages to other users, requests to support, and feedback you send us.
  • Payment information. If you buy something, billing details and transaction information. Payments are handled by third-party providers; we do not store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically

  • Device information. Device type, operating system, browser, unique device identifiers and mobile network information.
  • Usage data. Pages visited, features used, how you interact with content, time spent, and the page that referred you.
  • Location. An approximate location based on your IP address — or, only with your consent, a more precise location from your device.
  • Log data. Server logs showing your IP address, access times and system activity.

Information from third parties

  • Social sign-in. If you sign in with a third-party service such as Google or Apple, that service may send us your name, email address and profile picture.
  • Analytics providers. We may receive aggregated or anonymized data from analytics partners that helps us understand how the platform is used. On ometv.me this is Google Analytics — see Cookies & analytics.

What we use it for

Running the service, keeping it safe, and improving it — plus what the law requires.

  • Providing the service — operating the platform, processing transactions and delivering the features you ask for.
  • Personalization — tailoring your experience, including content recommendations, match suggestions and interface preferences.
  • Communication — service notifications, replies to your questions, and customer support.
  • Safety and security — detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and breaches of our terms and community guidelines.
  • Analytics and improvement — understanding usage patterns so we can fix bugs, improve features and build new ones.
  • Legal compliance — meeting legal obligations, enforcing our terms, and protecting the rights, property or safety of users and the public.

Public content

Anything you publish publicly can be seen by others and indexed by search engines.

Some parts of ometv.me are designed to be shared. Your public profile page, videos and posts can be viewed by other users and may be indexed by search engines. Search engines decide when to refresh their copies, so after you delete or edit something, it can take a while before search results catch up, and cached copies may remain in search results or on third-party services for a period of time.

Please think before you publish. You can delete your content at any time.

Cookies & analytics

Some cookies are needed for the site to work; Google Analytics measures traffic.

We use cookies and similar technologies to collect and store information while you use the platform:

  • Essential — required for the platform to function: sign-in, security and session management.
  • Performance — help us understand how visitors use the platform through anonymous usage data.
  • Functional — remember preferences such as language and display options.

Performance measurement on ometv.me is done with Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to tell new visitors from returning ones and reports page usage to us in aggregate. It only stores cookies after you accept analytics in the cookie banner; you can change that choice at any time on the cookie policy page. Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Analytics on every site: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Turning off certain cookies may stop parts of the platform from working. The cookie policy has more detail.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only in these cases:

  • With your consent — when you explicitly authorize us to share it.
  • Service providers — trusted vendors that help us run the platform, such as hosting, payment processing and analytics, bound by strict confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, legal process or a government request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of ometv.me, our users or the public.
  • Business transfers — in a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of the transaction.
  • Aggregated data — anonymized, aggregated data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

How long we keep it

As long as it is needed — then it is removed or anonymized, unless the law says otherwise.

We keep personal information as long as necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

  • Active accounts — kept while your account is active.
  • Deleted accounts — personal data is removed or anonymized within a reasonable period, except where the law requires us to keep it.
  • Content others interacted with — public content that others viewed or interacted with may be kept in anonymized form after the account is deleted.
  • Legal retention — some data may be kept longer to meet legal, tax or regulatory requirements.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, fix, delete, move or limit your data.

  • Access — a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — fixing information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Deletion — removing your personal data, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Portability — a machine-readable copy you can take to another service.
  • Opt-out — unsubscribing from marketing messages at any time, through the link in the email or your notification settings.
  • Restricting processing — asking us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.

To use any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with the law that applies.

Under-18s

ometv.me is for adults only.

ometv.me is not intended for anyone under 18, or under the minimum age that applies where they live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone below that age. If we learn that we have collected it by mistake, we will delete it as quickly as we can.

If you believe someone underage has given us personal information, tell us at [email protected]. See also our child safety page.

Security & third parties

We protect your data with standard measures — but nothing online is perfectly secure.

We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction, including:

  • encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest;
  • regular security assessments and vulnerability testing;
  • access controls and authentication mechanisms;
  • secure storage on industry-standard infrastructure;
  • data-protection training for staff.

No method of sending or storing data over the internet is 100% secure. Use a strong, unique password, and be careful about what personal information you share online.

Third-party services and links

The platform may link to websites, services or apps we do not run, and this policy does not cover them. We may also rely on third parties for social sign-in and sharing, payment processing, analytics and performance monitoring, content delivery and hosting, and customer-support tools. Each has its own privacy policy, which we recommend you read.

Changes & contact

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and you will be told.

We may update this policy when our practices, technology or legal requirements change. For material changes we will:

  • update the "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page;
  • give notice on the platform or by email for significant changes;
  • give you a chance to review the updated policy before it takes effect.

Continuing to use ometv.me after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Questions, concerns or requests about this policy or your data: [email protected].
