What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. "Similar technologies" means things like local storage, which do the same job in a different place. We use both to collect and store information while you use the platform. This page is a closer look at the cookie section of our Privacy Policy.
The three kinds we use
Essential ones make the site work; the others remember settings and measure use.
Essential
Needed for the platform to function at all: keeping you signed in or keeping your temporary session alive, security, and session management. Without them, matching and your account do not work properly.
Functional
Remember the preferences you set — such as language and display options — so you do not have to set them again each visit.
Performance
Help us understand how visitors use the platform by collecting anonymous usage data. On ometv.me this is Google Analytics, below.
Google Analytics
The one third-party measurement tool on this site.
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are used, where visitors arrive from and whether something is broken. It sets its own cookies to tell a new visitor from a returning one, and reports to us in aggregate — counts and trends, not a profile of you.
Analytics only runs with your permission. On your first visit a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you choose “Accept all”, Google Analytics stores no cookies on your device and sends no identifying data — it only receives the signal that consent was not given. Choosing “Essential only” keeps it that way. Your answer is remembered in your browser so we don’t ask on every visit.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics on every site that uses it with Google’s official browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking it does not change how ometv.me works for you.
Turning them off
Use the cookie banner for analytics; your browser settings control the rest.
Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete them, or clear all data for a single site. The instructions are in your browser’s help pages. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of ometv.me from working — you may be signed out, or matching may not start.
Changes
If the tools we use change, this page and the Privacy Policy are updated together, and the date at the top moves. Questions: [email protected].
